I have used youtube, i went on it to watch funny videos that i could not watch on demand through conventional forms of media like television. I also used it to watch music that i have heard on television that i could not repeat on it so i went on youtube and searched the video then kept watching it.

One of the most popular videos on youtube is 'Evolution Of Dance' and this is so popular because it was put on youtube at an early time, half a year after youtube was made which meant people would have had more chance coming across the video. Also the video is funny which is one of the main things people look for and due to it being popular it would stand out to other videos which would attract people to watch it. The video has 167,000,000 views which would of also got that much by word of mouth too.

A recent celebrity story is to do with actor Charlie Sheen and you can search his name and get lots of videos of him focusing on how he is going crazy like videos of interviews where he has freaked out.

Youtube is affecting celebrity culture by focusing on current celebrities and picking out the bad points of them and making videos which attract people to watch it. Also youtube makes its own celebrities by videos making millions of views.

Youtube allows social groups to be represented by having videos aimed directly at different social groups like funny videos aimed at teenagers.
