Christopher Jefferies was arrested with suspicion of murdering 25 year old Joanna Yates. The media portrayed him as a weird eccentric. The sun wrote "JOANNA Yeates murder suspect Chris Jefferies was last night branded a creepy oddball by ex-pupils, a teaching colleague and neighbours." The public then tend to believe what they read and small things about the suspect such as his blue rinse hairstyle help to create a creepy image that make people even more suspicious of him because he is different.  They arrested Jefferies just 24hours after he said he had seen her the day she was last seen alive. This automatically reaches the news. After nine weeks on bail Jefferies was released with no involvement in Joanna Yates' death.
