What is Jeff Howe's definition of crowd-sourcing?
Crowd-sourcing is the act of taking a job traditionally performed by a designated employee and outsourcing it to an undefined, generally large group of people in the form of an open call.

What does the video believe is the key to successful crowd-sourcing?

1. Build and unify a crowd of tip top feelancers.
2. Give them a web platform.
3. Manage and market the crowd.
4. Take on Goliath!.

To allow people to get together and share information, yes Facebook.

Swarmsketch - there is a picture and everyone adds lines to it to form a picture this is quite effective as it generates views and traffic of the website.
The motivation behind this is probably artistic and creative thinking.

1. Increases website traffic
2. More views on subject
3. Large network of thinkers

Disadvantages:

1. Might get too crowded, filtering information may be hard from gatekeeper
