News - japan earthquake/tsunami
Our focus is on the tsunami in Japan, we researched facts and figures from BBC,Sky and CNN to decide whether the information they produce is biased or not. BBC news uses exactly the same figures as Sky for estimated numbers dead which were "Police say 200 to 300 bodies have been found in the port city of Sendai." This shows that the information that they are using is from the same source because it is a global disaster so shows that it is biased information. However CNN america does report on some different and more detailed information than BBC and Sky which is good because it means not all the news sources are biased and from the same source and gives the viewers a wider interpretation of whats happening. You can tell that all the news company's have a lot of pressure in giving the news as soon as they can due to all three channels having a live feed of the disaster that is currently happening which shows how the dominance of global news organisations is a very good thing as they assert the news very quickly.
