What impacts has the internet had on media production, distribution and exhibition?

Intro:

- Broadband has made media available worldwide and anytime 
- Broadband internet has allowed people to provide services to people and homogunised cultures.

- Broadband has allowed anyone to become a producer of media via platforms such as youtube.com. Henry Jenkins theory of participatory culture expresses this. This is because  everyone can create and upload videos so they are prosumers.

- Broadband has connected the whole world and allows anybody to exhibit their media and become online celebs.

- Chris andersons long tail theory explains this by saying that pre broadband niche films and media were hard to find and expensive but since the introduction of a global broadband it has made distribution of media easier and cheaper
- Also globalisation has lessened trade barriers so global media organisations like google have become global players because they reach a worldwide audience.

- Jeff Howes theory Crowd Sourcing says that when someone puts their intent out onto the internet and then gets free support/info/ideas and labour from other people via the internet to create a product.
